My Sylvia Plath inspired tattoo. The red tulip is from her poem “Tulips”, and the fig leaf and “I am” are from The Bell Jar.
A full explanation of the tattoo can be found on my blog HERE.

People asked.. Here’s my tattoo. It’s my first. I have a few things to say about it. Yeah, it’s simple. That’s what I wanted. I got it less than a week after Spencer ended things with me (impulsive).. “I am” is a Sylvia Plath reference. It’s beautiful. She explained it in The Bell Jar perfectly. It’s important to me because I have to remember who I am and what I stand for. My passions and my loves are mine and not to be dictated by anyone else. Also, it isn’t perfect because it is in my own handwriting; otherwise it would kind of defeat the purpose.
Sidenote; The S.T.D. Central bracelet I bought from S.T.D. Central FLEA MARKET. I forget what it stands for —no, not sexually transmitted disease. I didn’t mean for it to end up in the picture but it is kind of funny.

Now that it’s healed…. again, favorite quote from The Bell Jar in my scribbled writing. I’m in love with it.

"Wear your heart on your skin in this life." ― Sylvia Plath, Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams

This blog is a spin-off from my main blog http://lovingsylvia.tumblr.com/

Trying to create a collection of ALL the Sylvia Plath tattoos I can find on the world wide web... and there are tonns of them out there!

Even though sometimes it sees that I can never collect all the tattoos I want and I can only go mad. I am horribly limited. ;)

Have fun and get inspired! ;)

P.S.: If you want, you can always submit your tattoo to: lovingsylviaplath@gmail.com
